What Is a
Citizen Engineer™?
A Citizen Engineer™ is an American who treats democratic governance the same way a structural engineer treats a bridge: as a system that requires ongoing maintenance, not a monument that stands on its own.
Democratic systems do not fail suddenly. They degrade gradually, through the accumulated weight of disengagement, misinformation, and the quiet assumption that someone else is handling it. The Citizen Engineer rejects that assumption.
"When systems are under pressure, stability depends on individuals who choose to act with clarity. Not everywhere. Not all at once. But where they are."
The Citizen Engineer concept is non-partisan by design. It is not a movement of Democrats or Republicans. It is a movement of Americans — across every political affiliation — who refuse authoritarian rule from any leader or party, and who understand that the maintenance of democratic governance is a shared civic responsibility.
This Is What Every Citizen Engineer Agrees To
The oath is not a slogan. It is a declaration of responsibility — the same words agreed to by every person who enters the Registry.
I am not a passenger. I am a Citizen Engineer.
I accept responsibility for the systems I rely on.
When I see strain, I do not ignore it.
When I see erosion, I do not normalize it.
I act with courage when it is difficult,
clarity when it is unclear,
foresight before consequences,
humility in judgment,
and empathy in impact.
I measure leadership by what it sustains—
not what it promises.
If I see risk and choose inaction,
I accept the outcome.
I choose to maintain.

The Official Citizen Engineer Registry
DUResolve.org is the official Citizen Engineer Registry of Democracy Unyielding. It is the place where Americans formalize their commitment to maintaining democratic governance — publicly or privately, on their own terms.
The Registry is not a petition. It is not a protest. It is a log of record — a growing list of Americans who have chosen to take responsibility for the system where they are.
Democracy Unyielding
Democracy Unyielding is a non-partisan movement and educational platform dedicated to the defense and maintenance of democratic governance in the United States. It was founded on the principle that democratic systems require active maintenance — not passive observation — and that the individuals responsible for that maintenance are ordinary citizens, not elected officials alone.
The movement is built around the book Democracy Unyielding, which provides the theoretical and practical framework for the Citizen Engineer concept.
